Who we are
Cocoshell is a service of Cocoshell Labs LLC ("we", "us"). These terms are an agreement between you and us. By creating an account or paying for a plan, you agree to them.
The service
Cocoshell provides private, end-to-end encrypted chat and calls. Business plans run on a server for that business; Single and Family plans run on servers shared between customers, with each plan's people kept apart.
Your account
You must give accurate information and keep your password and recovery key safe. Plan owners are responsible for the people they add, and for having permission to add them. If you add someone under 13, you confirm you are their parent or guardian and consent on their behalf.
Payments
Plans are billed in advance, monthly, through our payment processor (Stripe). Business plans are billed per person (with a minimum); when your team grows or shrinks, the difference is prorated onto your next bill. Free trials end automatically and convert to paid plans unless canceled. Prices may change with 30 days' notice. Taxes may apply. If a payment fails, we may pause your plan after 7 days.
Canceling and deletion
You can cancel any time on your account page; you keep access for 14 days and everything is deleted 30 days after canceling, or right away if you ask. We don't give refunds for partial months except where the law requires.
Acceptable use
You must follow our Acceptable Use Policy. We may suspend or close accounts that break it or the law.
Your content
Your messages and files are yours. Because they are end-to-end encrypted, we can't read them and can't recover them if you lose your devices and recovery key.
Availability
We work hard to keep the service running and backed up, but it is provided "as is" and we don't promise it will always be available or error-free.
Limits on liability
To the extent the law allows, Cocoshell Labs LLC is not liable for indirect or consequential damages, and our total liability is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.
Changes
We may update these terms. We'll tell you about important changes by email at least 30 days before they apply.
Law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Georgia, USA.
